We have the pleasure to announce that Alvaro Castagnet has been awarded as a finalist at the Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolour Biennial, 2010.

”Overview” is a large watercolor painting of Calle 18 de Julio, downtown Montevideo.

As the first special international watercolor exhibition in the world, the Biennial Exhibition, boasting strong academic background, high-level exhibits and broad coverage, will showcase works of watercolor masters from all over the world including China, Britain, US, Russia, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Uruguay.

Out of thousands of entries, and two stages of selection, 230 paintings have been selected to be shown in the exhibition, which will be officially opened April 15, with the duration of 3 months, to match with the Expo Shanghai 2010.

Paintings by British Prince Charles’ have marked the official launch of works collection and contributes to the high-level exhibits.

Limited copies of British Prince Charles’ watercolor drawings will also be exhibited.

The award winning painting will be shown in a permanent exhibition at the Quanhua Watercolour Art Gallery.
